Set To Stage Biggest Beer Festival in Asia
SINGAPORE — Singapore confirmed its place on the
beer brewing frontier when it announced
that Asia’s largest beer festival will be staged
in Singapore over a three-day weekend period, February
02 to 04, 2007.
The event, Singapore International Beer Festival 2007
(SIBF2007) aims at attracting beer brewers from around
the world to showcase their products to buyers and distributors
in Asia, and at the same time, to create wider consumer
awareness about the quality and diversity displayed by
the various beers of the world.
SIBF2007
plans to showcase both the traditions and innovations
shared by the whole brewing
industry as well as those customs unique to specific countries
and regions.
Trade visitors
from more than 16 countries, including US, Europe, Russia,
China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, India,
Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines,
Indonesia, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand are expected
to attend this event.
"With
the growth of small to medium-sized breweries around the
world, more and more people are now enjoying the variety
of beers available," said Sophie Xiao, event director
of the SIBF2007. "Whether it ‘s beer from US
or ale from Europe, or a special brew from Japan or simply
the branded canned beer, SIBF2007 will offer beer enthusiasts
the widest choice of beers ever offered in Asia."
The 3-day event, to be held at the Singapore Expo, Singapore,
will also feature live entertainment, an exciting dance
competition and a beer drinking contest.
